The Nürburgring is more than a racetrack—it's a moving legend. Since 1927, it has stood for passion, innovation, and unforgettable moments. Today, it's a unique event location and a magnet for motorsport fans and the automotive world. Our drive remains the same: to shape progress and bring emotions to life.
Our team of around 200 permanent employees and over 1,000 temporary workers ensures the smooth running of the legendary track, both financially and organizationally. Every year, we organize over 50 public events, 400 corporate events, and just as many active driving experiences.

The story of a legend
Almost 100 years of racing, legendary victories, and historic dramas – that's the history of the Nürburgring. But the story of the "Ring" is much more: It tells of people, myth, and engines.
How it all began.
In the summer of 1925, construction began on a unique race track in the Eifel region. Built at a cost of 14 million Reichsmarks and with the help of up to 2,500 workers, the 28.265 km circuit celebrated its premiere two years later.

The Eifel race for motorcycles (June 18) and the following automobile race with the victory of Rudolf Caracciola on June 19, 1927 went down in history as the birth of the Nürburgring.

Neubeginn.
Am 17. August fanden auf der damaligen Südschleife vor rund 80.000
Zuschauern Rennen für Motorräder mit und ohne Seitenwagen statt. Im
Eintrittspreis waren Würstchen, Kartoffelsalat, Brötchen und Wein
enthalten.
Erster Formel-1-WM-Lauf.
Am 29. Juli war die Motorsport-Elite in der Eifel am Start. Den Großen Preis von Deutschland gewann Alberto Ascari auf Ferrari.
Premiere des ADAC-1000-Kilometer-Rennens.
Im Rahmen der neu gegründeten Sportwagen-Weltmeisterschaft fand am 30.
August das erste 1000-Kilometer-Rennen auf dem Nürburgring statt.
Legendäres Rennen.
1957 gewann Fangio mit seinem Maserati nach großartiger Aufholjagd den GP von Deutschland und wurde zum fünften Mal Weltmeister. Aus hoffnungslosem Rückstand überholte er die Ferraris von Collins und Hawthorn.
Deutschland im WM-Fieber.
Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips war der neue Publikumsmagnet, der 1961 um
den Großen Preis von Deutschland kämpft. Wirtschaftswunderzeit – da
gehört der Motorsport zum neuen Selbstbewusstsein einer ganzen Nation.
"Die Grüne Hölle".
Als Jackie Stewart 1968 den verregneten Nürburgring aus dem Flugzeug sah, prägte er den Begriff „Grüne Hölle“. Am 4. August triumphierte er bei Regen und Nebel mit vier Minuten Vorsprung.

Der Beginn einer Erfolgsgeschichte.
Das erste 24h-Rennen
am Nürburgring wurde ausgetragen. Den historischen Premierensieg 1970
sicherten sich „Striezel“ Stuck und Clemens Schickentanz (BMW 2002).
Leitplanken und Auslaufzonen.
Tragische Unfälle und immer schnellere Autos machten Ende der 1960er Jahre umfassende Umbauten nötig. 1970/71 wurde die Nordschleife abgesichert: Fangzäune, Seitenstreifen und Leitplanken ersetzten die Hecken.
Eröffnung der neuen Grand Prix-Strecke.
Am 12. Mai 1984 eröffneten Grand-Prix-Strecke und Rennsportmuseum. Senna gewann das Auftaktrennen in identischen Mercedes 190 E. Am 7. Oktober kehrte die Formel 1 zurück – Sieger: Alain Prost.
Die DTM ist wieder da.
Obwohl sich die Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft von 1984 bis 1996
großer Beliebtheit erfreute, hatten sich einige Hersteller
zurückgezogen.
Der Ring-Champion.
Der Große Preis von Europa 2006 war Michael Schumachers letzter Sieg auf
dem Nürburgring. Insgesamt konnte „Schumi“ fünf Mal bei seinem
Heimrennen ganz oben auf dem Podest stehen: 1995, 2000, 2001, 2004 und
2006.
